AMI Primary (3-6) Orientation Course

This course is intended to provide an introduction to the philosophy and practice of the Montessori approach for the Primary (3-6) level.

60 hours plus 9 additional hours of observations. Specific instruction how to observe will be given during the course. 


This international certificate qualifies the student to work as an AMI Classroom assistant anywhere around the world. It is also a useful stepping-stone to the AMI Montessori Diploma and is invaluable for parents. The Certificate is awarded to students who have satisfied the 90% attendance requirements and have completed coursework to the required standard

Marja-Leena Tyrväinen

AMI Primary (3-6) Trainer

Marja-Leena Tyrväinen became an AMI Montessori Primary Teacher Trainer at 2001. Since then she has been directing several Primary Courses in Finland and in Switzerland, co-directing courses in Romania, Denmark and Sweden. In addition she has been AMI examiner in different countries.


She received an AMI diploma for ages 3-6 in 1984 in the United States in California. She has experience in working with children over 30 years. Marja-Leena Tyrväinen holds a BA in Education and studies for Master’s degree are in process. She lives in Espoo, Finland with her family.

Upcoming AMI 3-6 Orientation Course is planned as follows: 

Course Format: Online.

Dates of the Live Online Sessions (Total of 10 days):

21st to 23rd September 2020 (3 days)

23rd to 25th November 2020 (3 days)

and 30th November to 3rd December 2020 (4 days)

From 5:00 to 8:00 PM (Cairo Time), some days will start at 4:00 PM (to be confirmed)

Students will need to complete additional hours of individual and/or group work in their own time.

Between these dates, students will also need to complete 9 hours of Observation and write 3 papers of 500 words each.


English, Arabic (Arabic translation will be provided if needed)
